✨Ecstatic Dance & the Power of Letting Go✨
On Friday evening, I had the most beautiful experience — my very first ecstatic dance session. Held at St John’s Hall in the Isle of Man and lovingly guided by Rosemary of Rosemary Holistic Therapies, the evening was small and intimate, with around 8 or 9 ladies gathering together to release, move, and reconnect with ourselves.
We began with a beautiful heart-opening cacao ceremony, setting intentions for what we were ready to let go of and what we wanted to welcome in to fill that space we are creating within ourselves. For me, this was deeply personal. I set the intention to release judgement of myself and the imposter syndrome that sometimes creeps in around my holistic coaching and healing work. In its place, I am ready to call in courage, strength, and the ability to empower others on their own transformational journey.
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic dance is sometimes described as meditation through movement. It is a form of emotional release and self-discovery within, where music guides you to flow freely — without choreography, without judgement, and without expectation. The practice is all about letting go of what no longer serves your highest good and allowing your body to move however it needs to in the moment.
At first, I wasn’t sure how I would feel. Would I worry about what others were doing? Would I feel self-conscious? But once the music began and I started moving, all of those thoughts melted away. I didn’t care what anyone else was doing — I didn’t feel watched or judged. I simply allowed myself to dance, move, and flow through the different stages. I trusted that my body knew what it needed and I allowed the music to take me on an inward journey, helping me release, reset, and reconnect.
I could not believe I wasn’t tired afterwards as it was constant movement for at least an hour (and yes, I definitely burnt a few calories too!). I felt alive, energised, present and in the moment. But more than that, I knew it was a deeply healing experience.
A Safe & Sacred Space
Rosemary has such a gift for creating sacred, welcoming spaces. Every event I have attended that she hosts, feels safe, nurturing, and full of gentle energy. There’s no pressure, no judgement, no expectations — just the invitation to “be.” I also felt the connection which is so important for me right now, being around like minded people we are all healing together and I find this truly beautiful.
The next ecstatic dance session will be at St John’s Hall on Saturday 27th September. If this calls to you, I really encourage you to join — you can book directly via Rosemary’s website here.
Flowing Into Reiki
After I returned home, whilst feeling in this energised state I decided to give myself a deeply restorative Reiki energy healing session. It brought such peace and calm to me, in preparation for the Full Blood Moon Reiki groups I was going to be running over the weekend.
Reiki is one of the most gentle yet powerful practices for realignment and restoration. If you are feeling called to release, reset, and reconnect — whether you’re moving through big transitions or simply need some time for yourself — I would love to hold that space for you.
✨ If you’d like to book a Reiki session with me, please do get in touch. It would be my honour to support you on your healing journey. ✨
