Stepping Back Into Your Power: Confidence, Boundaries & Inner Strength

It is Wellness Wednesday once again and time for my next blog…

On Monday, I pulled the Tarot card Power — and this card really resonated with me. I have a feeling it might just resonate with you too.

Pulling these cards always invites me to just take a pause and reflect. I honestly believe the Universe places these messages in front of all of us for a reason — not to analyse or overthink, but for us to take whatever we need from them in that moment.

This card arrived at exactly the right time for me. And maybe it has for you too?

What power has come to mean for me

For such a long time, I believed I couldn’t do certain things (most things) because I live with a chronic condition.

I would say things like:

“I can’t do that.”
“I can’t manage that.”
“That’s too much.”

And yes — my health journey has been real and challenging, and often my body physically could not do those things!! But what I’ve come to realise over time, is that not all of those limits were coming from my body.

Some of them were coming from my mind - I was putting obstacles in my own way without even realising it.

A different kind of strength

Stepping into my own power hasn’t meant pushing myself harder or trying to be that person I was “before”. It’s actually meant the complete opposite.

It’s meant slowing down (a LOT) and listening to my body.
Pacing instead of constantly rushing.
Resting when I need to without feeling guilt.

I’ve learned a hard but valuable lesson that I don’t need to live at 100 miles an hour to be worthy or productive. There’s a balance between doing (masculine energy vibration)  and being (feminine energy vibration) and when I honour the both of them -  balance is the key and life feels lighter and far more manageable.

That, to me is true, real power.

Where we quietly give our power away

So many of us give our power away every day without even noticing.

We say yes when we mean no.
We put everyone else’s needs first.
We keep going when we’re exhausted and struggling.

And before we know it, we’re pouring from an empty or, leaking cup!

I’ve learned the hard way that when my cup is empty, nobody gets the best of me (including myself).  But when it’s full?
Everything flows so much more easily.💚

Setting boundaries — with others and with myself  has been one of the most empowering things I’ve learned to do.

It isn’t selfish - It’s necessary.

If you’ve been holding back from feelings of doubt or fear right now

I really want you to hear this.

The power you’re looking for isn’t outside of you - It’s already there deep inside of you.

Quiet.
Steady.
Patient.

Even when you don’t feel it – I promise you it’s there.

Fear and self-doubt don’t mean you’re failing because you don’t do do something (or hold back) — they often show up just before growth. If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, it doesn’t mean stop. It usually means slow down, ground yourself, and check in with your body before proceeding.

Coming back to the present moment

When everything feels like too much, grounding brings me back to the present moment every time.

Feeling my bare feet on the grass or the ground outside.
Taking a long, slow breath.
Stepping outside into nature (I absolutely love feeling the sun on my face or looking up at the moon and stars in the sky).

Power doesn’t live in the past or the future — it lives right here, in this moment, in your body.

Honestly, even one minute of presence can automatically shift how you feel.

🌈Crystals to support this energy🌈

There are two crystals I often return to when I need support with confidence and inner strength, you can meditate with them or just hold in your left hand to receive their energy:

Citrine💛 — for self-belief, confidence and gentle motivation.
Tiger’s Eye🤎💛 — for grounding, courage and reminding you of your inner power.

They’re steady and supportive energies — nothing overwhelming, just quietly encouraging.

Words to come back to

If it helps, repeat one of these ✨Affirmations✨ whenever you feel you need it (and as many times as you like - the more you repeat it the better):

  • I trust myself and my body.

  • I am allowed to move at my own pace.

  • My power comes from listening, not pushing.

  • I am enough, exactly as I am.

And one last gentle reminder before you go

You don’t need to rush.
You don’t need to prove anything.
You don’t need to be anyone other than who you are right now.

Your power has always been there — even on the days you forget.

Be gentle with yourself this week and remember to be kind.💛

Love & Light,

Donna Marie x
